Full Tele-Health Therapy Provision

It can be challenging at times to access services in person. Pronounce Speech Pathology has removed the need to travel to your therapist, through providing efficient evidence based therapy via tele-health.

Speech

Speech refers to the ability to articulate verbal messages clearly. Children, teens and adults can have challenges when it comes to articulating their verbal messages clearly. Pronounce Speech Pathology can assist with all areas relating to speech

  • speech sound development
  • speech coordination difficulties (dysarthria)
  • speech motor planning difficulties (apraxia of speech)
  • clarity of speech difficulties 


Language

Language is the term used to describe the words we use to share messages and how we interpret messages from others. Individuals can have challenges with language throughout the lifespan.

 Language is broken up in 2 areas:

  • Receptive language - this refers to the ability to understand others spoken messages such as following instructions and following longer conversations.
  • Expressive language - this refers to the ability to use words to share a message to others, such as forming clear sentences

Pronounce Speech Pathology is well equipped to address all areas of language challenges.

Swallowing

Speech Pathologists have skill sets in assessing and assisting those with feeding or swallowing concerns (dysphagia). Pronounce Speech Pathology are able to provide initial assessments for potential swallowing concerns and where possible make referrals for a face to face therapist in your area to provide on going support for your individual swallowing need.

Social Skills

Social Skills (pragmatics) is a large part of everyday interactions with our community. For some, social situations can be challenging to navigate. Pronounce Speech Pathology see that all people have social strengths, and assist individuals with specific goals to help build these strengths. areas include:

  • building early years play skills and interactions with peers (turn taking, sharing, imaginative play etc.)
  • navigating friendships
  • humour, sarcasm, jokes and all things abstract 
  • navigating employment social structures 

AAC

AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) refers to the use of additional or non verbal way to communicate with others. 

There are 2 types of AAC:

  • Unaided: Systems that do not require physical tools such as Key Word Sign, gestures, body language and ASLAN.
  • Aided: Systems that use tools or materials such as picture cards (PECs), communication books, and speech generating devices (Proloqu2go, LAMP, Grid 3 etc.)

Pronounce Speech Pathology can assist in the assessment, identification, trial and implementation of the AAC system that is right for you.
